I would of course never advocate burning all copies of the book Faking It: How to Seem Like a Better Person Without Actually Improving Yourself. I'm a staunch defender of freedom of speech, even if the speech offends my moral sense. On the other hand, my freedom of speech allows me to advise you to strenuously avoid that book and any influence that resembles it. In my astrological opinion, you need to actually become a better person in the coming weeks, not just pretend you are. Here's a good place to start: Don't just pay lip service to the idea of supporting others' freedom of speech. Help them claim and express that freedom, even if it makes you uncomfortable." ~ Free Will Astrology

-.-
An interesting week to focus on other's freedom to disagree AND to transform myself for the better in a no-middle-ground, completely genuine way.

Huh. When what you've been trying isn't working, try something new.
In unrelated news, I am determined to have an awesome day today.
At least, my day is going to go better than that stick-figure-based-on-real-life-guy.

Jul. 16th, 2011 09:16 amNow you will feel no rain, for each of you will be shelter for the other.
Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth to the other.
Now there will be no loneliness, for each of you will be companion to the other.
Now you are two persons, but there is only one life before you.
May beauty surround you both in the journey ahead and through all the years,
May happiness be your companion and your days together be good and long upon the earth.
Treat yourselves and each other with respect, and remind yourselves often of what brought you together. Give the highest priority to the tenderness, gentleness and kindness that your connection deserves. When frustration, difficult and fear assail your relationship - as they threaten all relationships at one time or another - remember to focus on what is right between you, not only the part which seems wrong. In this way, you can ride out the storms when clouds hide the face of the sun in your lives - remembering that even if you lose sight of it for a moment, the sun is still there. And if each of you takes responsibility for the quality of your life together, it will be marked by abundance and delight.

Jul. 13th, 2011 02:10 pm"So live your life so that the fear of death can never enter your heart.
Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand they respect yours.
Love your life, perfect your life and beautify all things in your life.
Seek to make your life long and it's purpose in service to your people.
Prepare a noble death song for when you go over the great divide.
Always give a word or sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place .
Show respect to all and grovel to none.
When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the light and for the joy of living.
If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only within yourself.
Abuse no one and nothing, for abuse turns wise ones into fools and robs the spirit of vision.
And when it comes for your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death; so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way.
Sing your death song and die like a hero going home."
-- Chief Tecumseh, Shawnee Leader (March 1768 – October 5, 1813)

PS: I posted the lyrics to "Drive" by Incubus yesterday, but deleted in a couple hours later. It said something to me, it might have said something to you, but it didn't say much to us, each other.
PPS: I'm still pretty introspective, but I'm taking a break from overt sharing. It takes energy, and I've been talking an AWFUL LOT. :P

So I found this link useful. I KNOW all of that, but I still catch myself treating introverts oddly. It's usually because I can't tell that they like me and/or if I've pissed them off somehow. I was gaming with one particular introvert for 3 years before I was certain he actually thought I was cool.

( Text below: Top ten myths about introverts )
1 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
