My Valentinr - amberness
Get your own valentinr

Today is just mad rushing around since Chuck and I are doing couple-y valentine's day stuff today instead of tomorrow. I WILL get out of work on time! *shakes fist!*

So. Valentine's Day. What do you think about it?

I think polypeople should steer clear of it. Although, the loves of my life are better than Outlook at keeping me on task.

: "Do you know what Thursday is? It's Valentine's Day. I'm working. You'd better be taking out."

Vday... Has always been odd / notsogood for me. In general, I don't particularly care about it one way or another. Lots of people I know are vehemently anti-consumerism-in-the-name-of-love-on-this-day-'cause-the-masses-say-so, but it doesn't bother me one way or another. Big fancy dinner & roses and a plethora of gifts are unnecessary (but nice, whatever the day! hah), but if I'm partnered at the time I'd like a kiss & acknowledgment, at any rate. Eh. *shrug*

I'm sorry, what's tomorrow? Thursday? What's so special about Thursday?

I think it's a great excuse to be lazy and cuddle with my partner, but don't feel crushed if nothing "amazing" happens (anymore, haha).

This year Richard and I opening a bottle of wine, eating some chocolate, and watching a movie with my best friend, who is single. :) There will be much tri-cuddling, with me in the middle!

Tri-Cuddle FTW. :)

Sounds lovely.

Why not just call it St. Hallmark Day?

I'm all for the mushy gushy feelings it brings about - but its basically a huge marketing ploy by Hallmark to boost sales. And moreover, why cant we be mushy gushy all year 'round?

I'm all for over-the-top romantic nonsense, but it's harder to accomplish when the entire rest of the world is doing it too. Maybe I'll demand a rain check and go out for fancy dinner in a couple weeks.

Given the fact that my airport shuttle is coming for me at 3:30 AM Friday morning, it might have been more clever to do something tonight. . . :P

i hate it. it makes single people feel bad, and it puts couples under a manufactured obligation. i don't celebrate. if someone makes a gesture toward me related to the day, they're being nice and i won't bitch at them.

I love it in every form. Today, I got to decorate giant envelopes with my students to hold all their Valentines tomorrow, and I got them each a candy bracelet.

Tomorrow, my kid and I are going out for Mexican food. (Valentine's Day is as good an excuse as any for something spicy!)

I got presents for the boyfriend, but I don't think we have plans to do anything.
