I have heard of THIS! Here in Burbank there's a 50% chance that the Squirrel you are toying with is rabid... this not only makes it an extreme sport but lots more fun! :P
A couple of years ago they ( City of Burbank) had to close my favorite hiking park due to rabid squirrles. That's what they told us ( the public) anyway.
I have an icon on my hard drive that someone else made that says "squirrel fishing is my anti-drug". I'm not using it now, obviously, but if you're ever interested in it I can dredge it up for ya.
