Singin'...

Today I show up at the SLGC rehearsal and ask them really nicely if I can stay and sing and stuff even through I missed the auditions. Then, I imagine, I'll sing some and make cute irrestistible cooing sounds until they submit to my will.

Wish me luck.

I find it's better to be stubborn like a gelatinous cube than like a stone. Stones can be broken. Caustic Jello just eats away until it wins... or at the very least it gets a tasty meal and some armor.

PS: I thought I knew one of the songs they're doing for the Chorus already, but now that I am listening to their rehearsal CD, I find that I'm wrong. Very, very wrong. Wrong in latin, which is, "nefas".

I MUST HEAR COOING. I will brave the possibility of being enchanted to the point of stupor.

I have no recording apparatus for the cooing. :( I however have earlyish Thursday evening available, after I feed a kitty and love upon he.

Capitol Hill? 7ish? *coos* Mebbe Here? (http://www.thechapelbar.com/)

THUUUUUURSDAY?!?!? Damn it. That's the only day this week that my friend Jack is off early enough to hang out, I think.

WAIT. FRIDAY. She's off early FRIDAY.

(I'm all about caps today. CAN YOU TELL?)

Thursday. Yes. And I've never been to Chapel. 0_o Stoked I am.

Considering it used to be a funeral home, it has a great vibe and very very tasty martini-like drinks for $4 until 8.

Jack is a gal's name. That's cool.

I heard it used to be a funeral home! Too bad the dead don't really stick around those places...:P

Woah woah woah. Martini's? So I get to hang out with you in a swanky converted funeral home while drinking martinis and listening to you coo?

VERY PRETTY! :D

Yes. You may not hear me coo so much though because one of the tiny imperfections of the Chapel is sometimes they play their music too loud.

What's the vibe like? Is it crowded? More upscale trendy or down-to-earth? *plays on website*drools over martinis*

Woah woah woah. Dancing on Thursday nights? And earlier than ten? Do you know how long it's been since I've been dancing? Do you?...Probably not, since we've never gone out.

So...we meet at seven...have a few martinis, chat until whenever...and then I go mad-crazy on the dance floor for an hour so I can still get to bed at midnight.

Plus screenplays about psychos, superheros, and 300$.

Does this sound good to you? Or...not?

I was unaware of the dancing part. I know they do "Loud and Queer" but not that there was dancing. But Neighbors has 80's night, yes, yes it does. Either way, there can be dancing. :D

It's not...snooty, but the place has an old school bar niceness. I've gone there with a sarcastic tee and a pair of jeans and felt comfortable and I've been there dressed up and it was fine too. They serve their bread with tarragon butter. o.o

I am thoroughly stoked. Like a fire. Burning in my loins. Or something.

Also, I'm a wuss-baby and will probably want to trek home at a semi-reasonable hour (read: eleven or midnight), if only because otherwise I'll murder my boss with a letter opener the next morning.

Chapel looks really cool (tarragon...mmmm...), and it sounds like the vibe is just my style. The site said something about DJs and such, but it could just be misleading...or I could just be thinking about dancing too much. I haven't gone in over a year, though lord knows I've tried. Maybe this time it'll actually work out!

What's the cover at Neighbors on Thursday?

$5, unless they've changed it. I haven't made it to Neighbors in a while. I would use my google fu to check it but some work showed up. *shakes fist at employer*

Loud and Queer has DJs for the listening of the music, but no dance floor as I recall.

11 or midnight is ok by me too. There is still some prime dancing time to be had. I have some sleep to catch up on from last weekend, and I *KNOW* I am going out dancing Friday. :)
