I love Chuck's art. I've always had a thing for artists.
Some months before Chuck and I got together, I made an LJ post about a character I was playing at a tabletop game. I was frustrated because the character I was playing was a stocky, unattractive old woman and finding a picture I could use of a stocky old woman was nigh impossible in the fantasy genre. Edit: Found the post. (Egads, I'm a completionist!)
The next time I saw Chuck (a couple months later, we were friend-of-friends at the time) he has a big piece of paper of these brilliant sketches of my character. I was delighted. I totally missed the foreshadowing, but I was still delighted.
The picture is still on the wall in my writing room.
He's drawn a few pictures for me since then. He made some fantastical steampunk devices to illustrate a Mage game I was Gming. He drew and painted the tapestries we use in Ushaw Moor's church. He's so talented. I am not very good at drawing, so it's magical watching him work. When he thinks something and then I get to see it, it's a little miracle.
I guess I'm hoping a little that my art of the written word is a bit of the same for him. It's not as colorful, I know. The internet is full of words but these are mine.
