George

spazzychic: (scared cat eep!)
I encountered a black and white cat named George at about 11:10 last night. George is not a smart cat, as evidenced by the fact I met him as he jumped onto the hood of my car*... as I was in the middle of parallel parking. George is also not a thin cat. He didn't budge while I finished wiggling my car in (I hit the curb too since I had to scrabble around on the passenger seat to put my heart back in my chest). Then he and I had a bit of a late night talk. His human came by (who was looking for him... George is also not an outside cat typically) and picked up his furry butt and took him home. I wonder if it was the warm hood on a cold night, the need for company, or the salmon I had in my car?

In hindsight, it's pretty funny.

I got to bed very late, thanks to Chuzzle, a popcap game. Damn you [livejournal.com profile] avisionaire!

PS: I've Samhained my journal. I also just turned Samhain into a verb.

*Please note, earlier this same evening a friend of mine was telling me about a nightmare he had about corpses hitting windshields....

Netflix!

spazzychic: (full of crazy)
I got a free month of Netflix, 2 dvds at a time for a total of 4 a month. I doubt I will watch more than 4 movies a month, but if I end up going on a media tear I can kick that up later. I own NO DVDs at this point. I only had about half a dozen anyway, but I don't re-watch movies very much so there's no point.

I have a season of Scrubs queued up, Napoleon Dynamite (because I STILL haven't seen it) and the 2nd season of Dead Like Me down a bit in case someone throws a watching party. I've heard good things about Battlestar Galactica. I am curious about Six Feet Under because I really liked it when I stopped watching it ohhh... 3.5 seasons ago. But other than that, I dunno.

I didn't have a TV growing up, and cable TV drives me crazy more often than not. I go out and see a movie now and then but it costs a lot. I am not really that up on my media.

What, oh what, brain trust, should I ask the Netflix Gods for?

PS: "We think that B15A was in the right position where these waves would be fatal to it," MacAyeal said. "The iceberg shattered like a gracile wine glass being sung to by a heavy soprano." = Teh Awesome.
spazzychic: (lol!)

I really had to share this with the class.
