No job for you! Seek anger management!
Nov. 7th, 2005 02:09 pmCan Your Personality Get You Fired?
By Kate Lorenz
Job candidates rarely admit to being fired for poor performance... and they might just be telling the truth. A Harvard University study found that for every dismissal based on failure to perform, there are two dismissals due to personality and communication problems. With the high costs of employee turnover, it's no surprise companies are turning to personality and behavioral assessments to help evaluate job candidates, build teams and resolve workplace conflicts. While I can see why companies want to do this, it seems as though places are getting farther and farther away from skill-based employment. :D HELLS YEAH!
Nov. 7th, 2005 10:04 pmI love public speaking. It's a fierce joy to speak, or act, or dance, and feel the response and the feedback. I know a lot of people think it's a fate worse than death, but that just means more for me!
I also love improvisation. I like thinking on my feet, no time to get scared or overanalyze... just jump. *squee*
So the fact that tonight was improv speeches means that I am in a very happy buzzy place. *dancey*
Mr. Norton was dorky though and gave me a 49.99/50. There's something scribbly and completely illegible in the comment field and it's driving me somewhat mad. I think he did it on purpose.
