Introspection
Sep. 29th, 2005 02:24 pmI have noted two things about myself today:
1: I don't tend to act based on just what I want or don't want. I mean, it's a consideration, but there has to be some kind of tangible positive or negative result that makes my final decision. I E, I want to go to the movies, AND I'm going to be in the area doing an errand, so I'll go. Or, I don't want to set fire to my house, and the significant property damage would suck too. These examples are pretty extreme, but you get the idea. I always tie myself in knots if there are practical plusses to both sides, even if I actually want one or the other. I argue better for what I want though.
What's nice about this is it's easier to filter out those impulses that are amusing, but dumb.
2: I am totally going to read the entire Harry Potter series before the last book is released. I WILL NOT stand in line with the junkies... I won't I won't I won't! *rummages for book*
